Settlement이란 한국말로 확정, 결정라는 뜻으로 해석할 수 있다. 많은 사람들이 Settle한다고도 하고 Closing한다고도 말 하는데 부동산 소유권을 이전 할 때나 Mortgage를 얻을때 또 Refinance 받을때 사용되는 언어로 모든 거래를 확정하는 절차를 말한다. Closing이라는 말도 모든 진행사항을 끝낸다는 뜻을 가지고 있다. Settlement을 하기 위해서는 많은 과정을 거처야 하는데 구체적인 사항은 Real Estate과 Loans의 Settlement과정에서 설명하도록 하겠다.
